Wes Peterson grew up literally addicted to fishing. From an early age, rivers, lakes, and trout water shaped who he was, and that passion has never slowed down. Over the years, Wes has worn just about every hat in the outdoor industry — from working in the snowboard world to building fly rods, owning a fly shop, and guiding anglers across the West. His path has given him a rare blend of hands-on knowledge in gear, technique, travel, and hospitality.
He has worked for pretty much every major fishing lodge and outfitter in southwest Montana, gaining an unmatched understanding of the region’s waters, hatches, seasons, and hidden gems. Today, Wes works primarily out of the tackle shop in Ennis, Montana, where he guides his regular clients and helps visiting anglers get dialed in with the right gear, flies, and local insight.
That experience is the foundation of FlyQuest Adventures — offering anglers honest advice, personalized trips, and guided experiences built around real local knowledge, not sales pitches. For Wes, fly fishing isn’t just a profession. It’s a way of life — and he’s dedicated to sharing that lifestyle with anglers looking for authentic experiences on the water.
